Economic Development Cowichan staff, partners and elected officials will be conducting a Business Walk in the industrial and commercial areas of Cobble Hill on Thursday, June 16, 2022. This is the third in a series of Business Walks in communities around Cowichan. The team will be walking door-to-door speaking with the owners and mangers of local businesses about what it’s like to do business in the community.
“The purpose of the Business Walk is to build relationships and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities that each individual business is facing,” says Brittany Taylor, Acting Manager of Economic Development Cowichan, “The responses gathered can be useful in a number of ways, from improving programs and services, to establishing personal relationships with the business community.”
The initiative is part of a broader effort to support recovery at the community level in Cowichan. Business Walks have proven to be a useful tool to get a baseline understanding for the development of business retention and expansion strategies. Home-based businesses and any others that may not be around during the Business Walk are invited to participate online.
