It’s been a whirlwind year for EIO Diagnostics, a Cowichan based start-up company has now garnering international media attention.
EIO Diagnostics merges agriculture with cutting edge technology to address one of the most costly challenges within the international dairy industry – detecting early stage udder infections in dairy cows. EIO uses a technique known as multispectral imaging to accurately identify udder abnormalities as they form, and their technology is faster and more affordable than any of the alternatives currently available.
In June 2018, Forbes released their 25 Most Innovative AgTech Startups in 2018 and EIO Diagnostics made the prestigious list of up-and-coming agri-tech companies from across North America. Forbe’s list recognizes companies that use innovative technology to respond to the challenges facing modern farmers. EIO has recently established offices in Vancouver and will be working in collaboration with the University of British Columbia’s Agricultural Research Farm to continue the advancement and commercialization of their product.
