Cowichan’s health care and wellness network

Cowichan prides itself on promoting wellness and serving the health and needs of its citizens. Cowichan’s health care network includes 20 + family practice clinics as well as independent physicians and GPs. Walk-in clinics exist in every major community, along with health units in Duncan and Lake Cowichan.

The 114-bed Cowichan District Hospital is being transformed in the coming decade to meet the needs of our growing region. Two urgent care centres located in Chemainus and Ladysmith provide primary health care. The Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, Royal Jubilee Hospital and the Victoria General Hospital are close at hand.

Cowichan also has a community health network, Our Cowichan Community Health Network. They aim to deliver the most effective health system possible.  Alternative health and wellness practitioners in Cowichan provide services such as naturopathy, traditional healing, massage, acupuncture, reflexology and yoga.
