What is BMEx?
The BMEx (Building Material Exchange) is a government-funded circular initiative that connects construction and manufacturing businesses in South and Central Vancouver Island to prevent valuable construction materials from going to waste. It serves as a bridge between businesses with surplus materials and those who can breathe new life into them. All BMEx programming, including events, material matchmaking services, and the online material exchange marketplace, is free for participants and is open to any business that generates or has a use for surplus building materials. Over 700 businesses across the Island have participated in the program since its inception earlier this year.
The BMEx Challenge is presented by Coast Capital. The BMEx program is powered by Light House and funded by the Regional District of Nanaimo’s Zero Waste Fund, the Capital Regional District and the Cowichan Valley Regional District. BMEx is also supported by Synergy Foundation and the Vancouver Island Construction Association.
Don’t miss this chance to network, build partnerships, and champion sustainable practices in construction.
