Cowichan business owners and entrepreneurs are invited to take part in a new provincial survey aimed at reducing red tape and improving the business climate in British Columbia.
The Province has launched an “ease-of-doing-business” review to better understand the challenges that businesses face when starting, operating, or expanding in B.C. This review is an opportunity for Cowichan’s business community to voice concerns, share experiences, and offer practical ideas to streamline provincial government processes.
The feedback collected through the survey will help shape performance measures to make it easier for companies of all sizes to do business in the province. The goal is to cut unnecessary regulatory barriers, improve permitting systems, and create a more supportive environment for local businesses and innovation.
Early feedback from B.C. businesses has identified a number of common challenges, including access to infrastructure, complexity in regulation and permitting, funding limitations, and the cost of taxes and fees. This input is being used to inform next steps in the review process and to develop measurable outcomes.
Businesses can participate in the through an online portal open until fall 2025. The survey takes roughly 5-7 minutes to complete.
