Economic Development Cowichan is part of an action committee working with the Oak Park Heritage Preservation Society to develop a sustainable plan for the renovation and operation of historic Elkington House. The house, named Oak Park is located in the Cowichan Gary Oak Preserve in Maple Bay. Built in 1894, it is a local landmark that has a deep and rich connection to our community and is the only officially designated historic residence in North Cowichan. The society is led and supported by local residents who are working towards a plan for restoring and managing the historic structure.
